A Journey of Dedication
Since inception, our foundation has worked tirelessly to raise awareness, advocate for equity, and create tangible pathways of support.
Key Initiatives Here’s a glimpse into some of our proudest community contributions:
Workshops and Programs Supported by Our Foundation:
Mental Health Workshops: We organized numerous workshops focusing on issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. Our goal is to raise awareness that it is okay to not feel okay and to seek help. Modern societies face increasing mental health issues, leading to violence in families and public spaces, rising drug use, and associated increases in crime and suicides. We aim to address these issues head-on.
Disability Employment Service Project: In partnership with CVGT Australia, we conducted workshops to raise awareness about disability employment services, helping to create more inclusive workplaces.
Autism Spectrum Awareness Sessions: With the support of Positive Partnerships, we organized information sessions on education, awareness, and introspection regarding the autism spectrum.
Legal and Immigration Advice Workshops: We provided free workshops offering legal and immigration advice for newly arrived migrants and students.
Domestic Violence and Mental Illness Workshops: We conducted workshops addressing the critical issues of domestic violence and mental illness.
Bullying and Mental Health Awareness Workshops: We organized workshops to raise awareness about bullying and its impact on mental health.
Community Yoga Day: In association with Neighbourhood Watch Tarneit Central, we organized a Yoga Day for the community.
Gurmat Sangeet Workshops and Kirtan: We promoted Sikh String Music and organized Gurmat Sangeet workshops and kirtan sessions.
Support for AMES Australia: We provided valuable feedback on programs run by AMES Australia for new migrant communities and spread the word about their free classes, such as Early Childhood Education and Care, and Certificate III in Individual Support (Agingand Disability).
Gurmukhi Learning Center: We opened a Gurmukhi Learning Center in Melton for those who love Punjabi culture, its language, and string traditions in music.
Participation in Blackfella Films Project: We were part of a project by Blackfella Films, a TV production company based in Melbourne, working on a documentary series for SBS. This project aimed to help people move to regional Victoria with job security and other benefits, promoting a quieter lifestyle.
Cancer Awareness Campaigns: We played a crucial role in spreading awareness about cancer screenings, inspiring men and women in our Indian community in Victoria to undergo tests such as breast screening, bowel screening, and cervical cancer screening.
Jobs Victoria Collaboration: We worked with Jobs Victoria to guide people in securing suitable jobs across various industries, especially for those returning to work or parents of children under six years old. This program aimed to provide opportunities for people to find the right career path, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Support for the Homeless: In collaboration with Let’s Feed, we helped the homeless in our community by collecting blankets for them.
